Peer support groups
When you encounter the inevitable ups, downs, twists, and turns of life it can feel lonely and isolating. SoulFull's peer support groups bring together people who are going through or have gone through similar experiences.
Help is at hand.
Select one of the options below to discover the ways in which you can find community and feel less alone.
Coming out, exploring gender, and understanding your own sexuality is a key part of being human. It's a journey that starts at a young age, accelerates through adolescence, and continues throughout the lifespan. This journey of discovery and exploration can become frightening, overwhelming, and even dangerous when our gender or sexuality differs from the normative expectations of society.
This support provides an open space for young LGBTQIA2+ people [age 13-18] who are to meet with other queer and trans youth to hang out, find community, and discuss issues they are experiencing.
What is an 'open group'?
An open group is one in which you can drop in and out as you please and according to your needs. In the group, you will hang out with other queer and trans youth and receive guidance, advice, and mentorship from DDS and Davis.
What will we do?
Share challenges you're facing, collaborate on problem-solving, and find community with other people experiencing similar issues. You will also receive guidance, mentorship, and support from DDS and Davis, who will openly share their experiences of being queer and nonbinary and also offer their professional advice. DDS is a licensed psychotherapist with over a decade of experience of working with queer and trans youth and Davis is an educator who has worked with youth and parents for over 20 years.
We'll also laugh, eat candy, and establish friendships.
How much does this cost?
The Queer and Trans Youth Support Group is free of charge.

When you give birth to and/or raise youngsters it is highly understandable that you will envision a certain type of life for them, with them, and about them. In that context, when you discover that their gender identity does not match the gender they were assigned at birth or their sexuality is something other than straight it is also understandable that you might experience feelings of grief, confusion, anger, sadness, fear, or disappointment. We appreciate how you might want to shield your child from these feelings, which is one reason why we have set up the Parents and Caregivers of Queer & Trans Youth Support Group.
The Parents and Caregivers Queer & Trans Youth support group is an open group for people who have raised/are raising LGBTQIA2+ youth to meet with other parents and caregivers in order to share common issues, find community, and talk openly about their experiences.
